The Board of Trustees of the Walworth-Seely Public Library seeks an energetic, innovative and community-oriented Library Director with demonstrated leadership ability. The position, vacated by the director retiring after 13 years, requires a candidate with strong communication skills and experience with personnel administration, fiscal management, development, and library technology. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to community outreach, long-range planning experience and the ability to adapt as exploration of alternate governance and funding may take place in the future.

Located on the western border of Wayne County, the Walworth-Seely Public Library serves approximately 9,400 residents and is a member of the Pioneer Library System, a cooperative public library system serving forty-two public libraries in Ontario, Wayne, Wyoming and Livingston counties. The Director oversees an annual operating budget of $299,000 and six dedicated and experienced staff members. An enthusiastic Friends group works cooperatively to contribute to the library's vibrancy.

Salary: Negotiable from $35,000, commensurate with experience

Minimum Required Qualifications
A Master's Degree in Librarianship from a library school that is accredited by the American Library Association or recognized by the New York State Education Department as following acceptable education practices, and two years of professional library experience.

Eligibility for a New York State Public Librarian's Professional Certificate at the time of application. Possession of certificate at time of appointment.
